At the heart of this creative sanctuary is Rickey-Lee, the owner, whose journey in the tattooing world began in 1991 under the mentorship of “Pops” Saller in San Pedro, California. Rickey-Lee’s naval service allowed him to hone his craft across the globe, from San Diego to Singapore, before he decided to lay down roots and share his passion for all styles of tattooing, from intricate portraits and fine line black and grey to vibrant traditional color, with his community. His dedication is matched by his talented team, including Miss Jessie, a formally trained artist from the Academy of Art, San Francisco, who brings her love for anatomy and pin-ups into her work, and Sam Issersohn, whose multifaceted artistic background infuses his tattoos with a unique blend of graphic design, portraiture, and geometric elements.
The Diablo Ink family also includes Chase Elsberry, a digital savant and rising star in the tattoo world, and B, a UC Berkeley art graduate with a distinct, bold style that incorporates dark, graphic elements into his body art. I highly recommend Diablo ink tattoo. Sam is great, he does outstanding work. Very professional, responsive and honest. He did a cover up for me, an amazing tattoo for my husband, and gave my daughter her first tattoo that she absolutely loves. We will definitely be going back for more.
I brought my daughter here to get her nose pierced and she was super nervous! The owner is so efficient, patient, and wonderful that before she could even drop a tear...it was done. Out here in the Bay Area visiting my mom and wanted to get a meaningful spur of the moment tattoo and messaged the owner Rickey-Lee from Diablo Ink to see if they could accommodate us. He was quick to respond and got us in with Sam. Sam was very nice and patient and combined my moms and my fingerprint in this tattoo. This was my moms first tattoo and she was a champ!
